Wishing watching waiting,
Patiently impatient
Inside my secret self.
The world can come to me.
I will not tread the minefield
Of lies and poisoned smiles.
I'll stay inside instead,
Waiting wishing watching.
Let others live their lives,
Take risks, explore, get hurt
I'll just sit back and watch.
The world moves around me.
It interests me, but I know
I'm not a part of it.
Watching waiting wishing,
Bored with this hollow life.
The world has come to me,
And I have shut the door.
But now, I say, I'm ready.
Too late, the world has moved on
And left me here to stay
Wishing, watching, waiting.
