A little girl sees a picture,
A slender model with long legs.
She says, "Mommy, she's so pretty.
I want to look like her someday."
Ev'ryone wants to be beautiful,
And she's no diff'rent from the rest.
She thinks that beauty is wonderful,
And how can you blame her for that?
The little girl has grown older,
And she learns from her magazines
Lots of ways to look like a model,
And how to survive without food.
Ev'ryone wants to be beautiful,
And she's no diff'rent from the rest.
She thinks that beauty is happiness,
And how can you blame her for that?
The girl has started to eat once again.
She can't help it; they feed her through tubes.
She weighs only ninety-five pounds now.
And she still tells herself that she's fat.
Ev'ryone wants to be beautiful,
And she's no diff'rent from the rest.
She thinks that beauty is life itself,
And how can you blame her for that?
